Hello, my name is Tracee Collins and I am excited to serve as the new president of the PBP Community Association (PBPCA). Our association is comprised of many hardworking volunteers and our facility manager, all of whom are dedicated to enriching the spirit of community that exists in Palliser, Bay View and Pump Hill.
We may be only a small building but we are mighty in what we endeavour to offer to our members. PBPCA is a registered charity and offers many services and facilities to these and other surrounding communities south of Glenmore Reservoir. Some of the many services our community association offers include the PBP Cooperative Preschool, the outdoor skating rink, the 55+ Club, many great annual events (community clean-up, Winterfest, the Halloween party, Jane’s Walk, Stay n’ Play summer camps), as well as hall rentals for Girl Guides, Brownies, Little Rembrandt’s art classes, and other organizations.
We will miss the outgoing board members who have served our communities well for the past few years. Thank you to all who have contributed! We also welcome many new faces and are excited to have a full slate of directors who bring much enthusiasm and energy to our board. Finally, we are grateful to the many volunteers who help out in ways other than as board directors, including the folks who worked our most recent August casino, our regular rink flood team, and other regular event volunteers—thank you!
PBPCA exists to enhance the experience of living in the Palliser, Bay View and Pump Hill communities. We liaise with the City of Calgary, our MLA Linda Johnston, our City Councillor Brian Pincott, and our Constable Mike Glessing to keep connected to important goings on around town that directly impact our community. Everyone is welcome to attend our regular monthly meetings and I encourage your suggestions or comments. If you have any ideas for a fun social event, club, or fundraiser please feel free to share them with me or any of the board directors. Finally, we encourage everyone to become a paid member and help support the services we offer—a bargain at $25 per family! I look forward to a great year and wish everyone a safe and joyful holiday season. See you on the rink!
Tracee Collins, PBPCA President
