PBP Annual General Meeting (AGM) – November 10, 2015

Have you ever wondered who runs this community and how decisions are made? The three neighborhoods of Palliser, Bayview and Pump Hill represent 5400 homes, condos and apartments in Calgary. The PBP Community Association (PBPCA) manages our community centre, organizes events and programs, and publishes the community newsletter. We have an amazing budget of anywhere from $70,000 to $150,000 to spend in our community: events, facility and programs. This past year was one of exciting renewal as we made changes to the PBPCA budget, facility, and newsletter, and even were able to add new events and programs. Volunteers – people from this neighbourhood — run the entire operation. Whether it is a few hours a year or a few hours per month, we need volunteers like you to fill key board and committee positions at this November’s AGM.
The Annual General will be held on Tuesday Nov 10, 2015, at 7:00pm, at the PBP Community Centre.  Please mark your calendars for this opportunity to come and hear our reports and accomplishments from the past 12 months. We still have open board positions to fill and 3 nominations so far. Key positions where we still need nominations are: treasurer and board secretary. “Nice to haves” would be: an events director, communications director, seniors director, volunteer director, and sponsorship/fundraising director. Note all of these positions could be structured as a non-director role depending if preferred. Training and workshops are available. Participation at board meetings (2 hour per month) is the primary commitment of director roles and requested of volunteer non-director roles. We are evaluating the best day of the month to meet on a going forward basis and this will be decided at the AGM. We do not meet in July and August.  Whether you consider a board position or a non-director position, this provides you with an opportunity to get involved in the community. If you don’t feel like volunteering, then please support the PBPCA by purchasing your family membership, either online or from this newsletter.
