Looking for a great way to connect with neighbours and stay active?


The City of Calgary is hosting a Community Walking Group for seniors.

These walks are FREE for all to attend, and are led by a City of Calgary employee. Destinations and starting points will vary weekly and will be of varying length and/or difficulty levels.  Descriptions of the upcoming walks are as follows:

JUNE 9:  at 9:30am from PBP Community Centre, “South Glenmore Park Walk”
Head to South Glenmore Park for a loop on paved pathways with a view of the reservoir!
Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate, all sidewalk and pathway.  Distance 4  -5km.

June 17: at 12:00 noon from PBP Community Centre, “Bayview and Pathway Loop”
Take the pathway access via a trip through Bayview and walk a loop that heads past a scenic lookout and the board docks!
Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate, some uneven terrain on roadway with no sidewalk.  Distance 3.5 – 4km

June 12: at 9:30am from Braeside Community Centre “Braeside Stroll Ending at C.C. Book Store”
Enjoy a stroll through the community of Braeside and finish off the walk browsing through the Community Centre Used Book Store for some good reads for the weekend!
Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate, all pathway and sidewalk, approx. 4km

June 30: at 10:30am from PBP Community Centre “Reservoir Stroll to Heritage Park Wetlands”
This walk will take you along the lower Reservoir pathway along the water’s edge all the way to the Wetlands of Heritage Park for the self-guided tour of the wetlands.
Level of Difficulty: Moderate +, terrain around wetlands are uneven and may pose tripping hazards, approx. 5.5km

July 8: at 11:30am from PBP Community Centre “Pump Hill Walk”
Join us for a meandering walk through the scenic Pump Hill Community.
Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate, all pathway and sidewalk.  Distance approx. 4km.
