Director at Large
Sushma Mahajan moved to Calgary in 1982 and has been a long standing community member of the PBP district for the last 30 years. Aside from her profession in architecture, she enjoys the abundance of parks, green space, Glenmore Reservoir and safe community feel. The friendly character of the community makes this an ideal place to live and raise a family. Sushma believes in supporting the community where she lives and applies her passion for project based work in various areas.
Virander is a retired Chartered Accountant and has 40 years of experience in the public and private sectors in both the UK and Canada. His last 25 years were spent with the Canada Revenue Agency in Calgary, mostly in International Tax. Virander and his wife, Sushma, have lived in the PBPCA for over 30 years and enjoy its green spaces, parks and recreational activities. He joined the PBPCA in 2021 as Treasurer and has previously volunteered as Treasurer for both the Raga Mala Musical Society in Calgary and NACOI in Montreal.
Director a Large
Jay is a serial volunteer and has served on various other boards, primarily for arts organizations. He lived in Palliser for 5 years as a child and was drawn back to the community as an adult due to the great location and the proximity to nature.
Director, Facilities & Lifecycle
Cal volunteers at the PBP as our Facilities Director and is one of our most valuable volunteers. He is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that functionality, comfort and safety is met for all users of the Hall. Cal has time on his hands due to retirement, and volunteering has given him the opportunity to give back to the Community. He believes we are all members of the Community and should give back when we are able. We appreciate all that Cal does at the PBP!
Director at Large
First and foremost, Sam is a proud husband and father. He moved to Palliser in 2017 with his wife Deanna and were married in their backyard in 2018. Their daughter, Penelope was born in 2019.
Sam has been with Benevity for the last 7 years and is currently leading their B2B2C sales efforts working with businesses to integrate donations into their consumer facing products.
Outside of work, Sam has been Chair of the Movember committee in Calgary for the last 10 years, working with businesses across Calgary to run fundraising events that have raised awareness for critical men's health issues.
Robert grew up in Palliser, attending Nellie McClung and John Ware Schools within PBP, and enjoying the many recreational amenities available at South Glenmore Park. He has a keen interest in politics and public affairs, and has been involved in many political campaigns and advocacy projects since he was 16 years old. Since he graduated from Mount Royal University in 2018, Robert has been working as a government relations and communications professional, working to advance common-sense public policy solutions in numerous sectors. He strongly believes in the importance of community involvement, and is grateful to have the opportunity to give back to PBP by becoming involved with the Community Association’s Board.
